Essential Energies is committed to providing a safe, clean and welcoming environment for all clients. Reasonable steps are taken to minimise risks and ensure all treatments, events and activities are delivered safely and responsibly.

General Risk Assessment
Risk assessments are carried out for sessions, group activities and external events and reviewed periodically.

Treatment Space Safety
Steps leading to the treatment space are stable and clearly visible. Clients are made aware of level changes on arrival, and access routes are kept clear and unobstructed. The treatment space is kept clear of hazards, with stable furniture and safe layout. The entrance/exit door is kept accessible at all times.

Fire Safety
Candles and cleansing materials such as sage are used responsibly and are never left unattended. Electrical equipment and heaters are used responsibly.

Electrical Safety
All equipment is kept in good working condition. Cables are safely positioned to avoid trip hazards. Devices are switched off after use.
Heating
Heaters are used safely to warm the space prior to and during sessions and checked periodically.
Hygiene
All equipment and materials are cleaned regularly. Hands are sanitised between sessions.
Oils and Materials
Clients are asked about allergies. Oils and smoke are used appropriately with ventilation.
Client Safety
A consultation is completed before treatment where appropriate to help ensure the therapy is suitable and can be delivered safely.
First Aid
A first aid kit is available. Basic awareness of first aid procedures is maintained.
Insurance
Public liability insurance is in place.
Manual Handling
Equipment is handled carefully to avoid injury.
External Events
Set-ups are kept safe and organised without use of electrical equipment.
If an incident occurs at an external venue, the host organisation’s own health and safety and emergency procedures will be followed.
Lone Working
A phone is kept accessible and personal safety is considered at all times.
This policy will be reviewed annually or if business activities change.
